First time there. A beautiful October day. Soup was wonderful. Bought a cookie to go it was enough for 3 people.
Great food and baked goods.
Nice outdoor seating and parking, great soups, cookies, pastries and sandwiches.
Great bakery
Ordinary bakery, but pleasant atmosphere. I have been here several times now and have mostly ordered the apple pie. It is decent, but I really enjoy the bright feel of the place. This time around, I ordered peanut butter bar, lemon bar, cherry pie, and raspberry pie. My daughter who loves sweets didn't want more than a bite of each. That's saying something. Having said that, I would still come back for the pleasant atmosphere. For the baked goods, Honey and Rye is superior; so are Patisserie Margot, and down the street Patisserie 46 or Rose. Even Rustica is a good option...for the baked goods.
Great food in a great space. Lots of scratch made items. Their pies are awesome.
Great place to catch up with friends or bring a laptop and get some work done.
The bread IS fantastic... but they have so much more to offer. Amazing soups. Pastries are delightful. Cookies are delicious! And the staff could not be more friendly and attentive. They love to accomodate. Cant recommend this place enough!
This place is great, the waiters are nice, the food is great and the coffee is delicious. But the portion size is a tad large, you just have to know what your getting yourself into!
Great food, bakery, and service...their process for paying your bill needs improvement though--very disorganized checkout..
A honey bakery and deli. Great bread, rolls and pastry. Parking across the street. Restrooms in basement.
Loved the asparagus red pepper goat cheese quiche. It was fabulous.
Absolutely delicious. I am glad and saddened at the same time that this place isn't next door to me. It would destroy my waistline!
A pleasant neighborhood place for a casual Sunday breakfast. My veggie scramble was tasty and just what I was looking for. I like the serve yourself nature of this place, and how I can go get a coffee refill or some hot sauce when I need it.It's hard to resist the baskets of baked goods as you walk to the counter. The chocolate rolls are so tempting! Try one if you get the chance!
This place is great. 4 stars because occasionally, the young service staff is a little rough.
Great quiche, and their sunflower rye bread is fabulous.
Relaxed local bakery and café that serves full breakfast and lunch plates alongside their artisanal breads and pastries. This location happens to be the first of several across the twin cities.
I've always had positive experiences here. Their staff is friendly and the good is alway delicious. Portions are big and their soup is especially good.
They have the best raspberry jam. Compliments there bread amazingly, could just carb up all day. Their pork sandwich was also pretty good, it was almost a little ban mi -esque as the vegetables were a little bit sweet inside, but the pork was a bit on the salty side. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a comfy sit down meal, or a quick bite.
Best soup in the cities, awesome selection of organic and vegan choices
If you haven't been to Turtle Bread, you Need to get there! Their chocolate bread is decadently chocolately! Great selection of French style and rustic breads, sweet rolls, buns, Cardamom bread, etc, Cool Cafe as well!
Delicious breads, salads, desserts, soups, & quiches. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable to eat there, & easy to get take out. Fantastic lemon bars!
I am addicted to your quiche!! I've had quiche for 4 days of the last 7 for lunch, all are great but I'm partial to the Quiche Lorraine! I've also had a pumpkin bar or lemon bar for dessert, both delicious! Also, your staff is great!!!
Great pie's and of course the soups are fabulous!
Stopped in to get bread to accompany the homemade soup we were having for dinner. Large selection of various types. Prices are reasonable. Only problem is their awesome homemade cookies are right next to the bread, good luck trying not to buy a cookie, or 3, while picking up bread
I like the comfy neighborhood feel of Turtle Bread but I wouldn't keep coming back if the food wasn't great. And friendly, efficient service. I usually get a hot breakfast and prefer the self-service concept.
Fun place to eat. Variety of items. Nice casual atmosphere. Would come again. We ate there due to good recommendations and would go back again when we come to town. We live 7 hours away.
I love Turtle Bread, the coffee, the food and the vibe. Super nice workers and it's Vienna Roast coffee is delicious! If you want more then coffee you need to try their mushroom chicken soup, YUM! I am not a sweet eater, but my kids have said they make the best cookies ever. It is fun to walk in to see the European-style display of freshly made bakery items. Turtle Bread is a treasure.
Excellent food. Comfortable. Open and airy. Friendly and efficient staff.
Good lunch and coffee.
I had never been to this place, as it is far from where I live and work. Met a client there, who lives nearby. The place is not very conveniently located, with no easy highway access, no matter which direction you come from. Neighborhood is a big funky, and so is the building and the store. The latter is just a big room with lots of tables, merchandise displayed in a haphazard fashion and lots of empty shelves. My client assured me that Turtle Bread has some of the best bread in town, and I want to believe that. But since it was in the middle of the afternoon I just had a piece of pie (cranberry-pear), which was rather large and tasted good, although the crust was too thick and hard. We also each had a cup of coffee (latte for me), which was OK. The total came to $18 ($20 with tip), which I found high for what was provided. Patrick's Bakery and P46, to pick two local competitors, do a much better job, in my opinion.
Their staff I amazing and incredibly friendly. On top of that their pastries are out of this world!
Loved it! Great selection, and a friendly staff! Recommend you stop by and give it a try. Great place to get a cup of coffee or an Italian Soda. Even though it's a bakery, much preferred to other coffee shops in the area.
Nice place for lunch or a treat. Has inside and outside seating. Plenty of cakes, pastries to choose from. They also sell cheeses.
Awesome bakery very unique bread choices not like a regular bakery
Comfy neighborhood spot and cozy to hang out with new friends. Great pie!
Best pies in MSPL as far as I am concerned. Soup is their other specialty. Great salads (like chickpeas and feta) and breakfast all day. Surprisingly not the top bread in Linden Hills, but still good and the French pastries, like croissants, are excellent.
The desserts and pastries are to die for! They have quiche, sandwiches, soup, etc. I'm pretty sure everything is made in-house, from scratch. Awesome, lively atmosphere with friendly staff and good sized patio too. It's definitely worth making a special trip to go there.
Nice place to go to get some nice lunch or treat.
Turtle Bread is the bakery I've been searching for since moving back to the US after living in Brazil. They bake all the varieties of bread you would want, along with pastries, coffee, and hot/cold dishes. The building is absolutely beautiful with an authentic antique interior with wood display furniture for the food. This is exactly what I am used to seeing in other countries across the world. Their outdoor dining can be enjoyed as the streets around the bakery seem to have a lower traffic rate.Yes, they also have some bike parking. Its not much, but will be ok if not too many people arrive by bike. They would do well to move the parking posts back from the building a little bit more to offer full utility and also keep the outdoor dining tables away from it.
Ideal place for breakfast or lunch
Ive been coming here since I was little and its amazing. Its so cozy and the food is great. Its a wonderful place to study. I recommend the tomato soup
Great soup and sandwich spot, fantastic pies as well.
Love this homey cafe with artisan bread and delicious meals!!
Hands down best pie place
Great food , don't interrupt the employee doing his crossword puzzle!
Can't order a half sandwich...lame😬
Tasty food with quick service. All kinds of bakery goodies are available - loaves, pastries, cakes, jams, soups. A nice place for a low key date. Just wish they still cooked the bread at this location instead of trucking it from the the other store.
This is one of my favorites spots in the city because it is located in the neighborhood where I grew up. The vibe is warm and welcoming. The staff is friendly and variety of food and deserts amazing. My favorites are the Quiche Loraine, Tomato Basil soup and Key Lime Pie. The reasonable prices are the icing on the cake. :)
Love this local bakery. Open wifi and delicious lunches
